Libreville is served by Léon-Mba International Airport (LBV), Gabon's main international gateway, located about 12 km from the city centre — a short drive from the conference venue on the seafront.

Arriving by air

LBV has non-stop passenger service to around two dozen destinations. The two intercontinental gateways make most of the world reachable with a single connection:

  • Paris–Charles de Gaulle (CDG) — about six hours non-stop, with roughly 23 flights a week.
  • Istanbul (IST) — about eight hours non-stop, with roughly 7 flights a week.

There are also many direct flights from other African cities.

From most other regions, the convenient one-stop routings to Libreville connect through hubs such as Paris, Istanbul, Casablanca, Addis Ababa, Lomé or Douala. Regional carriers — including ASKY Airlines, Air Côte d'Ivoire, Afrijet and others — link Libreville with cities across West, Central and East Africa. Domestic carriers (Afrijet, FlyGabon) connect Libreville with Port-Gentil, Franceville, Oyem and other Gabonese cities.

Book early: Libreville has a limited number of long-haul frequencies, and July is a popular travel period. We recommend confirming your routing and reserving flights well in advance.

From the airport to the venue

The airport is a 20–30 minute drive from the main hotels and from the Omar Bongo Ondimba Convention Center. Libreville is compact and its road network is well maintained, so getting around is straightforward.

  • Hotel shuttles. The hotels run round-trip shuttles between the airport, the hotels and the conference venue, with times matched to attendees' flights and to the conference programme.
  • Taxis and ride-hailing are widely available across the city. Meters are rarely used in ordinary taxis, so agree the fare before departing. Drivers generally know the city and its sights well.
  • Many hotels, including the conference venue, can arrange airport pick-up on request.

Entry & visas

Most international visitors need a visa to enter Gabon. See the Visa page for requirements and, if needed, request a visa invitation letter. A yellow-fever vaccination certificate is required for entry to Gabon.
